A shocking study by Barna Group has revealed that 32 million church-going Christians are absent from this election and do not plan to go to the polls.
“There's a very important data point in Barna's research, and it's not just Christians who sit around, but people who attend church regularly, who culturally identify as Christian.” It's not just the people who do it,” says bestselling author and Daily Wire reporter Megan Basham. We talk to Liz Wheeler about “The Liz Wheeler Show.''
But why is it happening?
“One is, obviously, we have to acknowledge the issue of abortion. I think the contradictory messages from Republicans on this cycle have dampened enthusiasm a little bit,” Basham explains.
“But there's also another thing that I think is more important going on, and that is that a lot of this voter suppression and lack of enthusiasm is intentionally orchestrated by left-wing secular foundations and billionaires.” That's the fact,” she continued.
Basham believes that “they have been trying to convince Christians for years that they don't need to vote.” It doesn't matter that you participate in the political process. In fact, it may be political idolatry. ”
One example is a Bible study curriculum called “After Party,” created by David French, editor-in-chief of Christianity Today and a Democratic Duke theology professor.
“All three are by no means Trumpers, but two of them openly support Kamala Harris,” Basham says. “They created a political Bible study curriculum to get into conservative churches and conservative college campuses. Efforts were made to disseminate this book on 185 conservative college campuses, and this The book teaches Christians that politics is really complicated.
“It's not always clear who to vote for. And what we really need to do is reject the rhetoric. In fact, outside of issues of alleged racial injustice, how do we vote? I don’t know if I should.’” She gives an example.
“If you read the curriculum, you get a good idea of who they want you to vote for. And that curriculum is focused exclusively on left-wing secular foundations, Rockefeller philanthropy advisors, and Planned Parenthood and youth-oriented trans It's funded by the Hewlett Foundation, which also supports gender initiatives. “They're not Christians and they're funding these kinds of operations to actually suppress the Christian vote.” explains Basham.
