INDIANAPOLIS — Everyone gets a raise!
This large size is not a problem in an office environment. Sure, you might not feel special or particularly appreciated if your entire department gets the same raise. But what on earth is a higher salary good for you, and isn’t that what’s important?
Things are different in the NFL. In the NFL, the 2024 salary cap is ballooning at an alarming rate, reaching $255.4 million per team, a record $30.6 million increase from the previous year. That’s more than $10 million more than most optimistic projections for his new cap number. Isn’t (legal) gambling money epic?
This is good news for the Giants and every other NFL team, so it’s not like there’s any upside here. This significant increase will push the Giants’ salary cap space closer to his $31 million. According to Over the Cap, it’s a healthy place. This would put the Giants in the middle of the cap pack before making any moves or contract adjustments to free up more space if needed. There are 15 teams with more cap space and 16 teams with less.
