Three years after her Olympic dreams were dashed when she was suspended for failing a drugs test, sprinter Sha’Carey Richardson will make her long-awaited debut at the 2024 Olympic Games today.
Track and field is only in the second week of competition at this year’s Olympics, so it’s just the beginning for Richardson, who will compete in two sprint races, the 100m and 200m.
She will begin competing in the 100 meters in Paris today, Aug. 2. Though she has yet to win an Olympic medal, Richardson is the reigning world champion in the race.

2024 Olympic Women’s 100m Schedule:
The 100m is split into four parts and will be broadcast over two days.
Friday, August 2
- Qualifying Round: 4:15 a.m. ET (E!, Peacock)
- Round 1: 5:50 a.m. ET (E!, Peacock)
Saturday, August 3
- Semifinals: 1:50 p.m. (NBC, Peacock)
- Finale: 3:20 p.m. (USA Network, Peacock)
Replays of Richardson’s race will also air on NBC’s nightly “Primetime in Paris” on both August 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. ET. You can also stream “Primetime in Paris” on Peacock.
