After recently seizing a slight edge in the World Drivers’ Championship at the Mexico City Grand Prix, McLaren’s Lando Norris has shown strong performance all weekend at Interlagos.
Norris not only clinched first place in the sprint qualifying but also won the sprint race itself and excelled in race qualifying shortly thereafter. His sprint victory gives him a nine-point lead over teammate Oscar Piastri, who currently sits in second. Piastri faced a setback with a crash during Saturday’s sprint and qualified fourth for today’s race.
Max Verstappen from Red Bull, holding third place overall, faced difficulties during qualifying, notably missing Q1 for the first time since the 2021 Russian Grand Prix. Consequently, he’ll be starting from 16th position today.
The Sao Paulo Grand Prix occurs on a 4.677-mile circuit with a total of 15 turns, completing 71 laps over a distance of 190.064 miles.
