“This is a really good day for the American system,” NBC News chief political analyst Chuck Todd said Tuesday during MSNBC’s coverage of Hunter Biden’s conviction.
Todd said, “There aren’t many countries in the world where their sons and daughters are prosecuted in the justice system. America is so unique. I think today is a really good day for the American system. Yes, America is actually trying to work. No one says it’s perfect. There are a lot of flaws in the justice system and we learn more and more about them every day. And the system itself, the whole idea of it, in that sense today was a good day.”
He continued, “Think about it. He was convicted by a jury in Delaware. The Bidens are probably the most well-known family in Delaware and they’re probably responsible for a lot of what Delaware is getting right now from its government. So it matters where this conviction was handed down.”
Todd added, “Our system is different. We really hope there is fairness there and that no one is above the law. I think there’s a contrast the public may see between how Trump and his supporters handle the rule of law and how Biden and his supporters handle the rule of law.”
