Hunter Biden’s lawyers appear to have used his position as President Joe Biden’s vice president to try to thwart further scrutiny by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in its investigation into a tribal bond scheme involving Hunter Biden’s business partner, Devon Archer, the House Impeachment Committee told Breitbart News on Tuesday.
According to the letter, obtained by Breitbart News, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) are calling on the SEC to disclose information about its investigation into Hunter Biden’s business associates and related entities.
Comer and Jordan allege that Hunter misrepresented his position at Rosemont Seneca Bohai (RSB), which was used to siphon millions of dollars from foreign business ventures and associates who met with then-Vice President Joe Biden before or after transferring funds to RSB accounts, which then transferred the funds to Hunter.

Documents obtained as part of the impeachment inquiry allege that Hunter served as corporate secretary for RSB, which had direct involvement in a tribal bond scheme in which Archer was also involved.
In 2016, SEC enforcement lawyers investigated a tribal bond scheme that led to the agency charging several people with violating federal securities laws, after which the SEC issued subpoenas seeking documents and communications from individuals and entities, including Archer and the RSBs used by Hunter & Archer, Comer and Jordan told Breitbart News.
The SEC subpoenaed Hunter two days after issuing the Archer subpoena in March 2016, demanding information about Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC, Republicans said.
In response, Hunter’s legal team submitted 1,749 documents and asked the committee to treat Hunter’s information with the “highest level of confidentiality” because Hunter’s father was vice president of the United States, according to Jordan and Comer.

According to the impeachment inquiry, Hunter’s lawyers sent the full letter to the SEC.
First of all, I urge you to treat this matter with the highest level of confidentiality, in accordance with Commission policy and applicable law. The confidentiality of this investigation is extremely important to our client, and it would be unfair not only to our client, but also to his father, who is the Vice President of the United States, if his involvement in a criminal investigation parallel to the SEC investigation were to become the subject of media attention.
A few months later, in May, the SEC indicted seven others, excluding Hunter.

According to information obtained by Breitbart News on June 5, a House committee filed criminal charges with the Department of Justice regarding Hunter’s alleged “false statements to Congress” in connection with RSB.
