Jeff Clark, a former senior Justice Department official in the Trump administration, said Wednesday he found no evidence that Vice President Kamala Harris personally led the prosecution of a single case at the local or state level.
“I would like to see if she has actually served as a judge,” Clark said. The Charlie Kirk Show “To call myself an ace prosecutor otherwise is really misleading.”
Harris has frequently cited her background as a prosecutor as a key qualification for the presidency, often saying in campaign speeches:
As you all know, before I was elected Vice President, before I was elected to the United States Senate, I was elected Attorney General, as I mentioned in California, and before that I was a trial attorney. In those roles, I confronted all kinds of perpetrators — predators who abuse women, con artists who deceive consumers, con artists who break the rules for their own personal gain. So hear me when I say that I know what type of person Donald Trump is.
Her court appearances are on record, and not always with positive results: Actor Jamal Truelove, who was wrongly convicted of murder in San Francisco while Harris was district attorney, said she appeared in court as the verdict was read and “laughed out loud.” He said he only vaguely knew her during the trial.
Clark, who has done research in online legal databases and asked the public for help on social media, said that while there is evidence that Harris attended some trials, there are no court records yet to show that she led the prosecution in any particular case or argued on appeal.
Harris We're screwed She passed the California bar exam with flying colors the first time she took it, and her foray into politics was aided by her boyfriend, Willie Brown, a California strongman who had served as mayor of San Francisco and speaker of the California State Assembly, and who later admitted to arranging for Harris to be appointed to two state committees.
As a district attorney, Harris was known for pursuing and failing to prosecute minor offenders, such as parents of truant children and people arrested for marijuana possession. She infamously refused to seek the death penalty for Isaac Espinoza, a murderer who shot and killed an off-duty police officer. As California's attorney general, she was known for pursuing pro-life filmmakers and trying to force conservative nonprofits to disclose their donors.
As a senator, Harris gained a reputation for attacking Republican candidates on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
