On CNN's “Newsnight” on Monday, network contributor Scott Jennings reacts to the meeting President-elect Donald Trump hosted with President-elect Joe Biden, MSNBC personalities Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. did.
Jennings pointed to campaign rhetoric labeling Trump and his supporters as “fascists” and, in some cases, “Hitler.” He insisted that these meetings did not suggest that Mr. Trump was a Hitlerite.
“I'm surprised,” Jennings said. “I never expected Hitler to get so many requests to meet. First from Joe Biden, now from Micah and Joe. It's literally amazing that Hitler gets so many requests to meet. And what that tells me is all the rhetoric coming out of the left, the Democrats, the White House, Kamala Harris, and others before the election.
“All the rhetoric, fascism, Hitler, Nazi rallies, it was all BS,” he added. “They didn't mean it. If I was in the Democratic mob's shoes, would they look at all of their leaders and be nasty to me for six weeks before the election?”
