I Prefer to Eliminate Hamas Rather Than Be Honored by the Media

Netanyahu’s Strong Stance Against Hamas

On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed the Cabinet of his intentions to eliminate Hamas instead of seeking approval from the international media for Israel’s approach to the conflict.

Amid widespread protests from Israelis against his government, Netanyahu noted the recent hostage agreement with Hamas, which he proposed as a way to conclude the ongoing war.

Israel has agreed to the deal, contingent upon the simultaneous release of all hostages, the disarmament of Hamas, and its removal from power. Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) were gearing up over the weekend for further action against Hamas bases in Gaza.

Netanyahu’s remarks—translated from Hebrew by government sources—highlighted efforts to intensify operations within Gaza City. He emphasized targeting the individuals responsible for the October 7th attacks and communicated recent successes in eliminating key militants. This effort aims to send a strong message to remaining terrorists.

In addition to military operations, Netanyahu pointed out the establishment of humanitarian corridors to assist civilians attempting to flee Gaza for safer areas. Despite these measures, about 100,000 have managed to leave, with Hamas allegedly obstructing others from doing the same. Netanyahu asserted that attacks against civilians would not deter these humanitarian efforts.

The Prime Minister addressed a recent video released by Hamas featuring hostages Alon Ohel and Guy Gilboa-Dalal. After speaking with their families, he reiterated Israel’s solidarity, emphasizing that most Israelis stand firm against what he described as psychological terrorism.

Netanyahu described ongoing military efforts as critical in countering threats posed by what he referred to as the Iranian axis, which aims to dismantle Israel. Highlighting recent strikes against Hamas and other groups, he stated that these actions are essential in achieving long-term security for Israel.

Overall, he asserted the need for new diplomatic strategies while prioritizing military victory over favorable media representation. Netanyahu explicitly stated a preference for defeating enemies over seeking global consensus.

The United States continues to support Israel’s military and diplomatic initiatives, with President Donald Trump urging for a swift resolution to the conflict, whether through military success or negotiations surrounding hostages.
