On Monday's MSNBC “Deadline: The White House,” host Alicia Menendez criticized incoming border czar Tom Homan, who vowed to free Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol, saying this is their goal. That's not what Homan wants, he said. He vowed to go after sanctuary cities and “go after the members of this country who are just trying to do the right thing.”
“We must never forget our humanity, and we must remember…that the purpose of ICE and the Border Patrol is not to be 'unleashed',” Menendez said. That was the verb used by Tom Homan. Nor should we go after members of this country who are simply trying to do the right thing. Chicago's mayor isn't the only person Homan wants to prosecute. ”
She then played a video of incoming border czar Tom Homan saying it is illegal to hide and hide people from ICE, before asking what is legally possible.
Later in the segment, Menendez said there was consensus in favor of expelling dangerous people.
