ICE Catches Dangerous Illegal Immigrant Who Returned After Two Deportations

ICE Arrests Repeat Offender

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has taken into custody a violent illegal immigrant who was previously deported twice.

The arrest involved Serferino Trinidad Ortega, a Mexican national with a significant criminal background, as part of a targeted operation, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller.

Ortega has a history of serious offenses, including multiple counts of cruelty toward his wife, two DUI convictions, battery, and assaulting a police officer, alongside obstructing justice.

In comments regarding Ortega’s capture, ICE Assistant Director for Public Affairs, Micah Bock, mentioned that ICE will deport any illegal immigrant it encounters. He emphasized that the agency is focused on ensuring the safety of Americans by removing violent criminals from neighborhoods.

Ortega first entered the U.S. illegally in 2002, following which an immigration judge ordered him to leave. He was deported that same year in October but managed to re-enter the country again at an unspecified time and place. He faced a second deportation in August 2014 but then returned to the U.S. illegally for a third time.

During the enforcement operation on October 18, officers encountered challenges while trying to arrest him, as he allegedly did not follow multiple lawful instructions. In an effort to escape, he even tried to hide beneath his vehicle, according to the records.

Once detained, it was confirmed that Ortega was in the country illegally with no legal right to stay. After his arrest, he reported experiencing head pain and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. Once cleared by medical professionals, he was moved to ICE custody, where he is currently awaiting the reinstatement of his previous removal order to Mexico.
