On Friday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) shared images of a suspect taken into custody, accused of threatening federal agents. The agency highlighted that making threats to harm or kill federal employees is considered a felony.
The suspect, identified as Logan Murfin from Tulsa, Oklahoma, faces ten charges. These stem from his social media posts advocating for violence against federal agents, claiming they should be shot and killed. ICE relayed this information via a post on X.
The image captured shows Murfin being restrained by federal agents, with holiday decorations in the background featuring the words “Season’s Greetings.”
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Northern Oklahoma stated that Murfin has been charged with multiple counts related to assault and making death threats against federal law enforcement. He allegedly intended to intimidate and retaliate against them while also communicating threats of injury across state lines.
According to the prosecution, Murfin’s social media activity included various threats implying violence against federal officers. In a particularly alarming statement, he expressed that federal agents should be shot and that people should arm themselves against them, suggesting a troubling attitude towards law enforcement.
