ICE to Deport a Migrant Charged with Assaulting a Corpse

Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) is looking to take custody of an undocumented immigrant who was arrested for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a deceased person on a subway train in New York.

According to reports, ICE has lodged a detainer against Felix Rojas, who has a lengthy history of being released in the U.S. since 1998. His recent arrest revealed accusations of rape and grand theft.

The 44-year-old Rojas was apprehended after an incident on an R train in early April, where he reportedly pick-pocketed a man who didn’t respond. Surveillance footage suggested that Rojas was sexually assaulting the victim, later identified as a deceased individual.

Rojas is believed to have crossed the border illegally at least five times, according to a report in the New York Post.

He turned himself in on April 27 and was arrested shortly after.

Investigators have identified the deceased man, Jorge Gonzalez, as someone who died from liver cirrhosis, attributed to long-term alcoholism.

ICE also confirmed that they are seeking detention for Enoc Martinez, a Honduran national who entered the U.S. illegally in 2014 as a minor. He received a final removal order in 2022.

Martinez is facing multiple charges, including five counts of attempted first-degree murder and various firearm-related offenses, as reported by WMC-TV.

“Our immigration policies have allowed violent foreign criminals to threaten communities through lax border control,” said Deputy Director Tricia McLaughlin. “Under the current administration, ICE is committed to removing the most dangerous individuals from our neighborhoods. If you’re here illegally and breaking the law, we will find you, arrest you, and ensure you’re held accountable.”
