Justin Verlander and Kate Upton Attend Possible Last MLB All-Star Red Carpet

This Tuesday in Philadelphia might be the final occasion that Justin Verlander and Kate Upton make an appearance together on the MLB All-Star red carpet.

As Verlander has himself hinted at retirement after this season, it’s quite a noteworthy moment. He was recognized as a Legend during the All-Star Game but seems to be closing that chapter. When asked about the prospect of coming back and what it would take to keep playing, Verlander wasn’t optimistic.

He expressed, “I don’t know if there’s much that can be done at this point.” At 43 years old, he seems to recognize the reality that baseball is largely a young person’s game. However, he also mentioned that his teammate, Tarik Skubal, is encouraging him to give it another go, hinting he might train ahead of next year’s contract.

Verlander, while obviously trying to focus on his health mentioned, “Yeah, right now we’re in the All-Star break and I can’t get healthy and pitch… But hopefully I can get healthy in the second half. That’s what I’m trying to do.”

As he prepares to ride off into the sunset, the red carpet is more often associated with the sport’s next generation, figures like Paul Skeens and Libby Dunn.

It’s not just about the legends; it’s also about the future stars. Players like Brandon Marsh and Corbin Carroll were also seen with their families, reflecting a blend of old and new on such occasions.

Verlander and Upton, though their futures in the public eye may soon change, surely deserve this moment. There’s a sense of nostalgia as fans look back on their journey together, and it will be bittersweet to witness this possible last appearance.

So, as we look back on their past All-Star red carpet moments, it serves as a reminder of what they’ve achieved. They will undoubtedly be remembered fondly, and we might just see them celebrated in Cooperstown in a few years.
