Authorities in Los Angeles confirmed the discovery of a dismembered body in an abandoned Tesla, linked to Bronx-born singer D4VD.
The victim, a teenage girl estimated to be between 14 and 15 years old, has not been officially identified as her family has requested privacy, according to sources from ABC 7.
Described as petite, the girl was about 5 feet 2 inches tall with dark wavy hair and weighed around 71 pounds. At the time of her discovery, she was dressed in a tube top, black leggings, and wore a yellow bracelet along with metal stud earrings. A tattoo on her right index finger read “Shhh…”.
Her body had been wrapped in plastic and found in the trunk of the Tesla, subjected to extreme heat for at least five days. Authorities reported that her remains were not fully intact, contributing to a foul odor emanating from the car.
D4VD, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is facing scrutiny as police linked the vehicle to him. While he continues his world tour, he has been cooperating with law enforcement.
When the gruesome discovery was made, Burke was preparing for a performance in Minneapolis, keeping his two million Instagram followers updated with regular posts.
Despite his cooperation, the case has severely impacted his career. He lost endorsements with brands like Crocs and Hollister just days after being announced as part of a collaborative effort.
As a result, product images featuring Burke were released, but his face was notably omitted.
D4VD gained significant popularity in 2022 when his song became a hit on TikTok. Following that, he released his debut album in April and embarked on a global tour, with a scheduled appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago next year.
His track “Romantic Murder” has achieved millions of streams on Spotify.
