IDF Arrests 240 Terror Suspects in Gaza Hospital; WHO Condemns Israel, not Hamas

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) arrested 240 terrorist suspects, including the hospital director, after evacuating patients at a Gaza Strip hospital in an operation instigated by anti-Israel media that envisioned an attack on the facility.

Israel released photos and videos of the raid, which recovered items such as guns, grenades and ammunition stored at a hospital containing terrorist personnel.

The United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) condemned the Israeli attack on the hospital, as well as sensational media coverage in the Arab world and Europe. He said transferring patients from hospitals poses a risk to them. But the statement made no mention of Hamas and other terrorists using hospitals as bases and weapons storage facilities, a clear violation of international law that puts hundreds of lives at risk. be.

The IDF and the Israel Security Agency (or Shin Best, or Shabak) said in a statement:

Despite repeated calls for terrorists to refrain from using hospitals for military operations, IDF and ISA intelligence agencies have confirmed that terrorists have once again used Kamal Adwan Hospital as a command center for military operations in Jabaliya. I confirmed that there is. Following this information, the IDF conducted and completed a targeted operation against a Hamas terrorist site within Kamal Adwan Hospital.

In collaboration with COGAT, 350 patients, caregivers and healthcare workers were evacuated from Kamal Adwan Hospital in recent weeks ahead of the start of targeted surgeries. During this period, tens of thousands of liters of fuel, food and medical supplies needed for the hospital's critical functions were also delivered to Kamal Adwan Hospital.

In the course of targeted operations, in coordination with local health authorities, a further 95 patients, caregivers and medical personnel were evacuated to Indonesian hospitals. 5,000 liters of fuel, two generators and medical equipment were delivered to an Indonesian hospital to maintain and operate critical systems within the hospital. Additionally, hundreds of civilians were able to evacuate the area through established evacuation routes to ensure their own safety.

At the beginning of the targeted operation, the 401st Brigade surrounded Kamal Adwan Hospital, arrested the terrorists hiding in the area, and eliminated additional terrorists. The Chayette 13 special forces carried out precision operations inside the hospital and discovered and seized weapons such as grenades, guns, ammunition and military equipment in the area.

During the IDF operation next to the hospital, terrorists fired anti-tank missiles and RPGs at the troops and attempted additional attacks against the troops. The military quickly eliminated the terrorists. Additionally, the IAF carried out strikes to eliminate terrorists attempting to flee the area. There were no IDF casualties.

During operations in the area, more than 240 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists and other suspected terrorist operatives were arrested, some posing as patients or attempting to flee in ambulances.

Among the suspects taken for questioning are the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, a suspected Hamas terrorist operative, as well as Hamas engineers, anti-tank missile operatives, and members of the October 7 massacre. Among them were about 15 terrorists who had infiltrated into Israel.

During initial interrogation at the scene by Unit 504 and ISA, many of the terrorists who emerged from the hospital testified that they had taken part in terrorist activities in the area.

The IDF will continue to act in accordance with international law with respect to medical facilities, including those where Hamas has embedded military infrastructure and has chosen to carry out terrorist activities in blatant violation of international law.

In a similar operation in March, Israel arrested nearly 500 terrorists and killed nearly 200 more at Shifa Hospital in Gaza, again with no civilian casualties.

Last week too, protest An airstrike near a hospital killed at least five people, believed to be journalists working for a terrorist-supporting news organization. Israel announced that all five were terrorists involved in Islamic Jihad.

Palestinian journalists from networks such as Al Jazeera have frequently been found to be performing “double duty” as terrorist operatives, some of whom hold senior command positions. Israel recently reported six similar incidents on Al Jazeera alone.
