If Anybody Thinks They’re Not Trying to Put Trump in Prison for 700 years, Look at What They Did to Me

On Friday's broadcast of FNC's “Hannity,” former Trump adviser Peter Navarro said the Biden Justice Department is pursuing him for contempt of Congress for failing to comply with a committee subpoena on January 6. I blamed him for that.

Navarro pointed to the rare nature of this crime and how it contradicts Justice Department policy.

He was sentenced to four months in prison for the crime, but said he would appeal to the Supreme Court, warning that something like this could happen to anyone.

“Sean, if anyone thinks we're not going to put Donald Trump in prison for 700 years, they just need to look back at what they did to me yesterday,” he said. “They're not fooling around. Four months in prison, they even want to put me in jail before I can — I can appeal in this case, and they're Trump They want to put him in jail and get him out of the Oval Office, and they want people like me to stay out of jail. Please help him. And here, here's the problem. And that's what I want our viewers to understand, as I do, and that's not unusual. I'm the first White House senior adviser, known as the president's alter ego, to be indicted on this charge. And the irony here, Sean, is that the Department of Justice itself has maintained a policy for more than 50 years that senior advisers like me can never be forced to testify before Congress. Why? That's because of the constitutional separation of powers. “Because it violates the executive privilege and impedes the president's ability to make effective decisions.”

Mr. Navarro continued: “And that's where we are now. I have a great case, Sean, and I've said from day one that this is going to the Supreme Court. It's called a first impression case. Can Congress compel senior aides to testify? According to Justice Department policy, the answer is no. And there are other questions related to that. Joe Biden himself It was absolutely bizarre for Donald Trump to intervene in the matter and say that he could revoke presidential privileges as soon as he became president, which is ridiculous. Brett Kavanaugh has already said that's ridiculous. So Sean, thank you for having me, but what I want everyone to know is that they can go after me. They could go after Trump. , might come after you. If you look at the average life expectancy in America, four months in prison at my age is effectively a death sentence. And that to me means that if you elect Donald Trump in 2024… And that's why we have to have him in the presidential race, because as you so eloquently put it, Sean, our economy is in disarray, our borders are in disarray, our enemies are in disarray. to us, and you have followed it.”

“But when I was in the White House for four years, only one of the three people was with the president the entire time. I know he saved hundreds of thousands of lives during the pandemic and helped us What do we get out of that by saving the hundreds of thousands of manufacturing jobs we created?'' he added. “I was charged with a crime that no one had ever been charged with before, I was sentenced to four months in prison, and they even tried to deny me my freedom while I appealed the case to the Supreme Court. Yesterday was not a good day for America. It's not a good day for America, but they're going to come after Trump. If they come after Trump, as he said, he's going to get in the way. And they will come after you.”
