Illegal alien busted for brutal mob attack on NYPD cops then released after ‘sanctuary’ church posted bail is back in jail

An illegal immigrant who was accused of leading a brutal mob attack on two NYPD officers earlier this year and released on bail has been arrested again. Back to Prison.

Yohenry Brito, a 24-year-old Venezuelan national, was one of seven illegal immigrants charged in connection with the January 27 assault in Times Square in which the man punched and kicked two police officers. Brito was immediately taken into custody on $15,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

But in February, the Rev. Juan Ruiz of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bay Ridge paid Brito’s bail and he was released, The Blaze News previously reported.

On the day of Brito’s release, Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Laura Ward said she was “outraged” that he had been arrested again while out on bail for assaulting a police officer, and warned that Brito was on the verge of jail time, according to the paper.

“I have an urge to put you in jail right now. I’m telling you right now, if I find out that you are arrested again on any charge between now and the end of this case, I will issue a warrant and set bail very high so you never get released,” she told him, according to The Washington Post.

According to the paper, Ward also told Brito, “If you run a red light, jump a turnstile or do anything that would require us to serve a warrant on you, you’re not going to see the light of day until this is over.”

But police sources He told the Post Brito has been arrested again, this time in connection with two thefts at Sephora locations in Manhattan, one in July and the other on Tuesday. Sources told the Post that Brito stole just over $1,350 in merchandise from the second Sephora on Tuesday and then fled the scene with an accomplice, who has not been caught.

Brito was indicted on the new theft charges on Monday and is being held on $25,000 bail, The Washington Post reported, adding that he is also being held on $50,000 bail in connection with his recent arrest in the Times Square police assault case.

Patrick Hendry, president of the New York City Police Benevolent Association, said of Brito’s latest charges, “As we’ve said from the beginning, the individual who attacked our colleagues in Times Square has no respect for the law and will not remain on the streets without causing further mayhem. We are pleased to see him back behind bars.”
