A man described as Texas’ “number one most wanted criminal illegal immigrant” has been arrested on suspicion of child sexual assault.

“The State of Texas has arrested one of its most wanted criminal illegal immigrants. He is currently in the Tarrant County Jail. We continue to search for our other most wanted individuals,” Governor Abbott posted. X This came just days after Gonzalez’s arrest.

This is not Choks Gonzalez’s first arrest – in fact, he has a history of multiple illegal border crossings as well as criminal activity in the United States going back almost a decade.
In 2016, Choks Gonzalez was deported after being convicted of assault with bodily injury on a family member and driving while intoxicated. A child under the age of 15 was in the car at the time of the DUI, but it is unclear whether the child was a victim. He has previously been charged with child abuse resulting in injury or risk of death.
In 2021, he returned to Tarrant County, Texas, where he was again charged with assault and failing to properly identify himself. Chocus Gonzalez is known to have several aliases, including Victor Coronado Gonzalez, Arturo Sanchez, and Felix Lopez.
The Texas Department of Safety also provided several mugshots of Chocus Gonzalez taken during various arrests.
