Illegal immigrant charged in 13-year-old NYC girl’s rape previously caught by Border Patrol, released into US

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed to Fox News that an Ecuadorian illegal immigrant charged with raping a 13-year-old girl in New York City was arrested by Border Patrol in Eagle Pass, Texas, in June 2021 and subsequently released into the U.S. with a court date set.

Additionally, the department confirmed in a statement to Fox News’ Bill Melgin that an immigration judge ordered the deportation of Christian Giovanni Inga Landi, 25, in February 2022, but that he was not deported.

Inga Lundy is among those not in ICE’s custody caseload, but Fox News reported this week that the caseload has skyrocketed to 7.4 million, meaning that each ICE agent now has to handle an average of 7,000 cases.

On June 18, the New York Police Department arrested Inga Lundy for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Queens. He also faces several other charges.

Security camera footage from the scene led to a flood of tips about Inga Lundy’s location, leading police to identify him as the prime suspect.

He was eventually arrested after neighbors recognized him from a wanted poster, and about 10 people held him down until police arrived and arrested him early Tuesday morning.
