Illinois man discovers Christmas gift in wall with his name on it decades after it was first wrapped

A gift from a Christmas gone by.

An Illinois man renovated his childhood home and found a Christmas present with his name written on the wall. This was 46 years after it was first packaged.

Tim King, 53, was helping his parents with a renovation project a few days after Christmas when he discovered a faded, wrapped Disney-themed gift behind a bathroom wall. He documented it in a video he shared to Instagram on Dec. 27.

“I pulled it out and it was just really old wrapping paper,” King said. KTLA5 reported.

“That's when I thought, 'Oh my god, this has my name on it.'

King, owner of TKING Construction Services in Lombard, said he opened the presents in front of the mother, who had no recollection of buying toys for her children, the paper reported.

The contractor believes the decades-old gift was purchased in 1978 when he was 6 years old and fell into the wall shortly after his parents hid the holiday present in the attic.

“I would have been six years old,” he told the media.

“That's very wonderful.”
