I’m a Zoomer. Here’s how Trump can win over voters like me.

I’m a Gen Z independent voter. I identify as a libertarian. I’m fiscally conservative, but socially liberal.

I don’t think Biden is good for the economy and I don’t think Trump is good for the social fabric. In fact, I’m one of the 63% of my generation who do. I don’t like either candidate.

But if Trump focuses on the economy, reduces division, and appears energetic, I think he could win the support of more Zoomers, especially considering that only 9% of my generation think the country is heading in the right direction.

First, Trump has had the strongest influence among young voters. Harvard Youth Poll On the economy, we found that we trust him 15 points more than Biden.

I want to hear that the future of our economy is at the center of his campaign because, as things stand, Gen Z is actually Worse Due to inflation and debt, they are less well off financially than millennials.

We are growing up in a broken economy, and Trump should point out how Biden’s disastrous economic record will affect our future.

And on that note, Trump would be wise to actually acknowledge the debate over student loans.

While Biden has been chaotically trying to push through pardons and being blocked by the courts, Democrats have never offered a positive, restorative vision for how to stop the next generation – my generation – from falling into the same destructive loop as millennials.

Forgiving student loans alone won’t help the next generation of students still trying to find their way in society, so Trump should combat rising tuition costs and consider promoting alternative routes like trade school.

Second, the border crisis is important to my generation.

According to Harvard University, only 16% of young people between the ages of 18 and 29 disagree that “the United States is experiencing a migration crisis at its southern border.”

Trump should emphasize How will unbridled immigration affect our future, from job prospects to social cohesion to law and order?

But more important than the issues being discussed, I think, is the impact of Thursday’s debate: It may sound eerie, but Trump can win over Zoomers by appearing animated.

That our president is out of step with the times is something Gen Z voters have noticed too: Videos of the 81-year-old Biden inexplicably losing his train of thought mid-sentence have not only aired on Fox News but have also been frequently shared on TikTok.

Biden has consistently failed to inspire confidence in his own cognitive and leadership abilities, and if the 79-year-old Trump appears relatively fit, alert and energetic on the debate stage, the night will be his.

But most importantly, I think we need to allay our fears that Trump will further damage the fabric of society.

His off-the-cuff, no-frills and often bombastic tone appeals to many voters but is irritating to me and many of my colleagues.

In fact, Trump has a higher approval rating among younger generations than he does among older Gen Z members. Reuters

Most of us only really remember the “lesser of two evils” elections of 2016 and 2020. We watched politics destroy friendships, disrupt Thanksgiving tables, and divide the country.

57% of Republicans and 41% of Democrats Say the other side “They are better described as ‘enemies’ than ‘political opponents.'” For a diverse, pluralistic democracy, this is an unsustainable situation, and I believe Trump has played a significant role in putting us in that position.

Division is simply not appealing to young voters, and we have a best interest in keeping the country together in the long run.

About Trump should not do All President Trump needs to do is give the mainstream media an excuse to portray him as on a revenge tour, or convince voters he is a divisive firebrand. It’s time to take the high road.

Gen Z adults have a reputation for being highly conscious, so while it may seem unlikely that they would vote Republican, it’s actually not that unlikely.

Trump only Biden trails by 8% He is the most popular of my generation. He actually performs. Better There are more 18-24 year olds than 25-29 year olds.

At the moment, young voters, like people of every other age group, are overwhelmingly dissatisfied, disengaged and disillusioned. Most of us feel that change is needed, and it’s up to Trump to prove to us that he is the right man.
