Former President Bill Clinton said Wednesday on ABC's “The View” that he is open to discussing the possibility of a preemptive pardon for his wife, Hillary Clinton, with President Joe Biden.
Co-host Sunny Hostin asked, “Do you think it would be wise for President Biden to pre-emptively pardon potential targets?” What about your wife, Hillary Clinton? Apparently she's on Kash Patel's list. ”
“They have a problem with her because, number one, she did nothing wrong. Number two, she followed exactly the rules as written. Number three,” Clinton said. As Trump's State Department, Trump's State Department, discovered, in 2016 Remember how big of an issue email was in 2017? President Trump's State Department discovered that there was absolutely zero evidence that Hillary was sending or receiving classified emails on her personal device. It was a false story.”
He added, “So if Kash Patel is determined to make something up, I think he can do it, but if President Biden wants to talk to me about it, I think I'll talk to him about it. I would do that,” he added. I don't think we should publicly advise on pardon powers. I think so too — it's very personal, but yeah — I hope he doesn't do something like that, Trump. Most of us get out of this world ahead of where we would be if we had just simple justice. So spending a lot of time trying to get revenge is usually a foolish thing to do. ”
Co-host Joy Behar said, “But for him to forgive them implies that they did something wrong when they didn't do anything wrong.”
Mr. Clinton replied, “Not necessarily.”
