‘I’m proud to be a Christian American champion’: UFC’s Jon Jones brings God and America to forefront after stunning victory

UFC legend and champion Jon Jones emphasized that he puts his faith and pride in America to the forefront after retaining his championship.

On Saturday, Jones defended his heavyweight belt against former champion Stipe Miocic. 3rd round TKO Winner at Madison Square Garden in New York.

After Jones' win, announcer Joe Rogan immediately asked how his opponent would fare against the former title challenger.

“It's very discouraging to hit someone who doesn't react,” Jones said of Miocic, praising his resilience and toughness.

The crowd then screamed when Logan asked about a possible match between Jones and interim champion Tom Aspinall. Jones took advantage of the crowd's enthusiasm.

“You know what? While everyone is cheering and feeling so happy, I want to acknowledge Jesus Christ,” Jones said to loud cheers.

“I'm telling you, I can't take credit for a gift like this, I really owe it all to him. I know millions of people are watching right now around the world. And I just want to tell you that.' We all know that Jesus loves you so much! That’s all I’ll say about it,” Jones added.

“I'm proud to be a great American champion.”

Jones also praised President Donald Trump, who was at ringside on the main card, imitating the politician's famous dance moves. Immediately after His victory, and again during the interview with Logan.

“I also want to give a big thank you to President Donald Trump for being here tonight,” Jones said, pointing to the president.

“I'm proud to be a champion of great America. I'm proud to be a champion of Christian America,” he continued.

Jones is perhaps the biggest star in UFC history to put this much emphasis on his Christianity on such a big stage, and he has done so many times.

The timing of Jones' comments appeared to be perfect, given the energy of the crowd and the presence of the Trump family and inner circle, who were chanting in the arena as a massive “USA!” began.

Former Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswami, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), Robert F. Kennedy Jr., musician Kid Rock and others surrounded Trump throughout the night.

Mr. Jones then stepped out of the cage and shook hands with Mr. Trump and Elon Musk, who was also in the audience.

Lightweight Michael Chandler, another Christian and Trump supporter, fought in an impressive co-main event. But his Comments after the match All they did was name UFC legend Conor McGregor and ask when he would be returning to the Octagon.

“Isn't it fun?!” Chandler yelled. “I wonder where you've been, Connor, come back and beat me!”
