A California woman was taken to the ground by a police officer after she reportedly directed a racist outburst towards individuals at the Linda Vista Recreation Center.
This incident occurred on March 21, around 6 p.m., when the San Diego Police received a call regarding her aggressive behavior.
According to police, the woman, whose identity remains unknown, was making racist remarks about both adults and children at the facility.
When officers arrived, they found her at the skate park area. Reports suggest she became confrontational and didn’t comply with commands.
In a video captured of the scene, a police officer is seen grabbing her hand, which led to a physical struggle; moments later, he forcefully took her down to the ground.
Witnesses reported seeing a police car parked nearby as the altercation unfolded.
As her body hit the pavement, some onlookers reacted with gasps—some even noting that their sunglasses fell in surprise.
The officer then managed to flip her onto her stomach and attempted to control her hands. While this was happening, she began to scream, although it wasn’t entirely clear what she was saying, apart from some expletives.
In one instance, she tried to bite the officer’s hand, prompting him to shout, “Stop biting!”
The video wraps up with her remaining on the ground as the officer advises her to calm down.
Following the altercation, the officer reported swelling and abrasions on his hand from the bite and was treated at a local hospital.
The woman was examined by paramedics before being taken into custody on multiple charges, including resisting arrest with violence and delaying an officer in performing their duties while also being a felon on bail.
Reactions to the video have been quite polarized; some people believe she got what she deserved, while others raise concerns about the use of excessive force by law enforcement.
