An Indiana man stole a liquor delivery truck from a bar parking lot in order to sell booze to pay off drug debts, police say.
Beau Burchell, 39, was sitting in his car when he saw a box truck pull up to Cheers Bar in Muncie Thursday morning and decided to steal the truck, which was loaded with $12,000 worth of beer and liquor. Fox59 reported:.
After the truck was reported stolen, Muncie police later found it in a cornfield behind a banquet hall about two miles away, police said.
There, police saw Burchell, her ponytail flying in the wind, run into woods near the edge of a field. She was eventually found under some bushes and taken into custody.
Burchell admitted to stealing the truck and said he was trying to unload booze to pay off a drug debt.
In addition to the truck, worth an estimated $50,000, police also found a skid steer loader worth approximately $60,000 that had also been reported earlier in the day.
Burchell also admitted to stealing the skid steer and cutting off the GPS unit.

The interior of the truck was damaged as Burchell had removed the cameras and GPS system. All of the liquor and beer was still inside the truck.
He was charged with multiple theft counts and was being held on $20,000 bail, according to jail records.
