Individuals became seriously ill after staying at a Las Vegas Airbnb connected to an alleged biolab linked to China, according to a witness.

Several individuals reported becoming “deadly ill” after spending time at a Las Vegas Airbnb, which allegedly concealed a possible biological lab linked to China, as stated by a former house cleaner.

This former employee, using the name “Kelly,” mentioned that she and two handymen tasked with maintaining the property fell seriously ill after entering the garage where the lab was supposedly located. About five days post-visit, she experienced ongoing breathing difficulties, fatigue, and muscle pain, which left her bedridden, according to police records.

The handyman corroborated Kelly’s claims, indicating he also developed similar symptoms after accessing the garage. It was noted that the wife of the property manager, 55-year-old Oli Solomon, had fallen ill as well after entering the lab space.

“According to Kelly, multiple residents of the house became unwell,” the police report indicated. “A woman required hospitalization due to severe respiratory issues.”

Kelly pointed out an unusual presence of dead crickets in the master bedroom during her cleaning, which struck her as odd given her many years living in Las Vegas.

Authorities discovered hydrochloric acid in the garage, a chemical that poses health risks if not handled properly. Kelly’s information prompted police to search the Las Vegas residence, unearthing what were described as “potential biological hazards.”

The property is registered to Jia Bei Zhu, a 62-year-old already in federal custody for allegedly running an unlicensed biolab in Reedley, California, back in 2023. Zhu faces serious allegations, including producing and selling unapproved medical devices and filing false statements with the FDA.

A report from the House of Commons Select Committee on China identified Zhu as a Chinese national with ties to the Chinese government and a fugitive sought by Canada, asserting his involvement in a criminal network that pilfered millions in intellectual property from U.S. firms.

Despite Zhu’s legal team asserting that he had no role in the Las Vegas situation, authorities claim he maintained “continuous” communication with Solomon, with over 460 phone calls recorded between them in 2025. Kelly informed police that Zhu called Solomon “daily” for updates about the property and had instructed him to relocate the lab if investigators made inquiries.

The investigation revealed a large quantity of an unidentified substance inside a refrigerator in the garage.

Solomon was arrested and booked into Clark County Jail on charges related to the improper disposal of hazardous waste. As the investigation unfolds, police have already identified one of the chemicals present as hydrochloric acid. A warning in the police report noted that this substance can cause serious, lasting damage if a person is exposed through skin contact, inhalation, or ingestion. This situation posed clear risks to anyone nearby, as hydrochloric acid can become volatile in the air, potentially leading to respiratory harm if inhaled.
