DHS Reveals Details on ICE Raid at Marijuana Farms
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is sharing new information about individuals arrested during a notable Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation targeting marijuana farms in California.
On July 10, ICE agents conducted raids on two marijuana farms located in Carpenteria and Camarillo. During these operations, at least 14 immigrant children were found at the sites, believed to be victims of trafficking. The arrests also included more than 360 undocumented individuals linked to various crimes, such as rape and child abuse.
Among those apprehended were:
- Santos Alberto Rodriguez Jacinto from El Salvador, who faced arrests in 2006 and 2011 for making terrorist threats.
- Josefina Lopez Martinez from Mexico, who was deported in 1998 and convicted in 2023 of cruelty toward a child in California.
- Jorge Luis Anaya Garcia from Mexico, arrested in California for intent to sell drugs.
- Jose Vazquez Lopez, also from Mexico, who was deported five times and has a battery conviction from Florida.
- Fabian Fernando Antonio Martinez from Mexico, who has admitted to voluntary returns and was arrested in California in February 2021 for felony firearm possession.
- Jesus Hernandez Ramirez from Mexico, previously arrested for indecent exposure and had three voluntary returns.
- Miguel Mezia Ekeviaria from El Salvador, arrested for property damage.
- Christina Martinez Modesto from Mexico, arrested for misdemeanor assault and battery against her spouse.
- Cynthia Paola Cardona Mendoza from Mexico, charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
- Adriana Gonzalez Gonzalez from Mexico, convicted three times for robbery and drunk driving.
“It’s embarrassing to see that as our investigation unfolds, politicians and activists are still shielding undocumented individuals who threaten the safety of our children and communities,” said Tricia McLaughlin of the DHS.
Following the operation, ten migrant children were placed in the care of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
In response, Democrats have criticized the ICE operation, with Governor Gavin Newsom (D) labeling President Donald Trump as “scum.”
