Texas Representative Defends Biden’s Mental Sharpness

During a recent podcast appearance, Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett spoke out about former President Joe Biden’s mental state, asserting that his acuity is markedly superior compared to that of former President Donald Trump.

Crockett appeared on Katie Couric’s podcast, “Next Question,” where she discussed concerns regarding Biden’s cognitive health amid an ongoing House Oversight Committee investigation.

Sharing her experiences in Congress, Crockett described Biden as having a “granddaddy” persona, indicating a familiar, caring presence. “The average person hasn’t had the same access to the president that members of Congress have,” she noted. “In my time around him, I never sensed anything that made me worried. He’s very much like a granddad to me.”

Reflecting further, she compared Biden to her elderly grandmother, pointing out that age doesn’t always equate to mental decline. While her grandmother became slower with age, she remained mentally present, which was the same for Biden, according to Crockett.

She continued, “It’s true we all slow down. But I’ll take a ‘broken’ Biden any day over Trump. I know his heart.”

In her views on Biden, Crockett emphasized that regardless of how one may label him, Biden’s intelligence is still far greater in comparison to Trump. “He surrounded himself with capable people who wanted to keep us safe,” she explained.

Refusing to acknowledge any mental deficiencies attributed to Biden, Crockett stated, “Even if people insist that Biden is mentally deficient—and I truly cannot accept that—he’s still light years ahead of what we have now. I wish we would measure our leaders consistently.”

Crockett’s remarks highlight a strong defense of Biden’s capabilities amid ongoing debates about his mental fitness for office.
