Inflation Numbers Show Biden Administration ‘Left Us with a Mess’

WASHINGTON – White House spokesman Caroline Leavitt said Wednesday that inflation numbers in January indicate that the Biden administration has left the “disturbance” for the Trump administration to handle.

Leavitt spoke during an afternoon press conference after the Labor Department figures showed that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was much higher than expected. It rose 0.5% from December to January, and consumer prices rose 3% compared to January 2024.

“In Inflation Point, we received these numbers, which were worse than we expected. This tells us that the Biden administration actually left us with the confusion we dealt with,” Levitt said. Ta.

“Unfortunately, it's far worse than everyone expected, as the previous administration was not transparent where the economy was really there,” she added.

She then called out the White House Communications Team from the Biden administration.

“The people on this very podium told Americans that inflation is temporary and that it will disappear. That wasn't, and now, as revealed today, the Biden administration's final report. shows that inflation is still around 4.5% higher over the last three months,” Leavitt said.

Leavitt said the ticks in inflation are “indictments for the Biden administration's mismanagement of the inflation crisis and the lack of transparency to address it.”

In a statement to Breitbart News that day, White House officials said President Donald Trump was dealing with “long-running damage” from Biden-era policies.

“President Trump is quickly revoking the prolonged damages of Biden's failed economic policies that have created the worst economic crisis in history for the past four years and burdened hardworking Americans,” White House officials said.

“In just three weeks, President Trump worked on rampant spending, creating Doge to end taxpayer-funded fraud and abuse, putting pressure on Congress to create a balanced budget, and the US was able to create a US budget. We have reduced regulations to restore energy control,” the official added. “Just as he did in his first term, President Trump will continue to take unprecedented actions, lower prices and enter a new golden age.”

Data provided by administrative authorities contrasted with minimal inflation under the first Trump administration and high inflation in 40 years booming under the Biden administration. In Trump's first four years, inflation averaged 1.9% compared to the 5% average over the past four years.
