Influencer with 1M Followers Accused of Raping Girl

Streamer Pleads Not Guilty to Rape Charges

Braden Peters, who is commonly known in the influencer world as “Clavicular,” appeared in court on Thursday to plead not guilty to accusations of raping a 17-year-old girl at his family’s home in Massachusetts.

The 20-year-old, recognized for his involvement in the “looksmaxxing” subculture—where young men strive to enhance their appearance through various means—stands accused of getting the girl intoxicated and sexually assaulting her during her visit to his home in Chatham, Cape Cod, in May 2025.

This trend, which emphasizes self-improvement in physical appearance through methods like grooming and diet, gained traction on platforms such as TikTok, where users share their transformations and give each other feedback.

Peters’ legal team has denied the claims, asserting that the interaction was consensual, as outlined in reports from the Associated Press referenced by CNN.

During his appearance at the Orleans, Massachusetts courthouse, Peters caught attention for his style, arriving in a dark suit while walking his dog. Interestingly, he only engaged with his pet and chose to ignore questions from reporters, according to AP.

His expression remained neutral throughout the brief hearing. Peters didn’t contest the $10,000 bail and has surrendered his passport. He also agreed not to contact or discuss his accuser on social media.

After the hearing, both he and his lawyers chose not to address the press.

Peters boasts a sizable following of one million on Instagram and regularly engages his audience with lengthy livestream sessions where he critiques appearances and discusses strategies for improving looks.

His legal troubles extend beyond this incident. Earlier this year, Peters faced a misdemeanor battery charge in Florida for allegedly instigating a fight between two women and sharing the footage online, which was later dropped. Additionally, he received probation after pleading no contest to a charge related to firing a gun in public.

The accuser has indicated to authorities that he had previously compensated her for appearing in his “looksmaxxing” videos. She alleges that during her stay, Peters provided her with several shots of vodka and livestreamed himself kissing her while she was inebriated. She reported waking up to find Peters assaulting her.

In connection with these allegations, the woman has also filed a lawsuit in Florida, claiming Peters injected her with a fat-dissolving substance during a livestream without her consent. Peters’ attorneys have dismissed the lawsuit, labeling it a tactic for publicity.

The Associated Press has chosen not to identify the woman, adhering to its policy of protecting the identities of sexual assault victims without their permission.
