Federal agencies are discarding Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in response to President Trump's executive order. And the intelligence news community (IC) is no exception.
Trump issued an executive order on the first day of his presidency targeting the federal government's DEI program. The federal agency then began rolling backs of the DEI, including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the National Security Agency (NSA).
“The CIA is complying with executive orders,” an agency spokesman told the caller.
“We focus on lasers on foreign intelligence report missions. EO and [Office of Personnel Management] Implementation of guidance. On January 31, the CIA sent a notice stating that the Agency Resource Group (ARGS), Directorate Resource Group (DRG), and the Workforce Partner Group have been disbanded. ”

Callers learned there is a group for African Americans, Asian Americans and LGBT executives.

CIA previously removed diversity and inclusion pages link The CIA's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) strategy (the caller learned) from 2024 to 2027 is no longer effective. The strategy isn't like that appear Agent's website.
Callers also learned that the CIA is removing some Dei-Themed material from both internal and external websites.
The FBI, which x its DEI office in December, told callers that it was “fully obeying” Trump's executive orders and that diversity wasn't listed as “core value.”
“The FBI is fully compliant with the Executive Order on the DEI Program and Implementation Guidance provided by the Department of Human Resources,” the department told the caller in a statement.
“As a result, diversity has been removed from the FBI's list of organizational core values. In 2024, current and former agents and analysts argued that the department relaxed employment standards. Officials argued in the report that DEIs are prioritized in the employment process, resulting in lower standards.
After the New Year's terrorist attacks, the New Orleans field office received backlash for history that promoted the DEI. For example, a press release starting in May 2024 announced plans for a “Diversity Agent Recruitment (DAR) event” to help the department find diverse applicants.

“The removal of non-recorded visual and information materials regarding the FBI's core values indicates the need to update these materials and in no way violates the legal record keeping obligations under the National Archives and the Bureau of Records (NARA). “The FBI said. Caller.

The FBI and CIA are not just members of ICs who respond to Trump's executive order.

Trump's National Intelligence Director Tarshi Gabbard has denounced identity politics in the past.
