Sen. Cotton Discusses Iran on Fox News

During a recent episode of Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), who chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee, voiced his concerns regarding Iran. He stated, “We cannot allow Iran to continue to have thousands of drones and a shield of missiles that could protect its future nuclear program after the Trump administration.” He emphasized the need to intensify military efforts, suggesting that it’s critical to target their missile and drone capabilities, particularly along the southern coast near the Strait.

Cotton expressed his belief that, as the president pointed out, negotiations with Iran are futile. He stated, “These people were never serious about negotiations. They are revolutionary fanatics.” He indicated that retaliating for Iranian attacks in the Strait of Hormuz is justified. He maintained that it’s essential to end military operations while simultaneously ramping up efforts to dismantle Iran’s missile and drone infrastructure, which has always been linked to halting their nuclear ambitions. According to him, the moment has come to reassess negotiations while ensuring the Strait remains open and a blockade is upheld.

Co-host Brian Kilmeade inquired, “And instead of leveling out the intensity, you’re increasing the intensity. Do you mean increasing the number of strikes?”

Cotton affirmed that the situation warrants a more aggressive stance, citing that the extremists have made their unwillingness to negotiate clear. He said, “This negotiation is a travesty designed just to get us.” He emphasized the importance of finalizing military operations that would deliver a significant blow to Iran’s conventional missile and drone forces.
