Iran Dismisses Ceasefire Following Trump's Declaration of Iran-Israel Truce

Iran has reportedly dismissed a ceasefire with Israel, asserting that President Trump did not receive any “ceasefire proposal” following his announcement about a halt in hostilities between the two nations.

An unnamed senior Iranian official stated to CNN that “Iran will persist in combat until it secures enduring peace.” They further described the US as “deceptive,” highlighting skepticism towards Israel’s statements.

In detail:

The official made it clear that Iran has not received any ceasefire proposal, and they saw no justification for one. The official criticized remarks from Israel and the US as “dead” and merely a pretext for an attack on Iranian interests.

“Right now, the adversary is launching an assault on Iran, and we won’t heed their deceitful narratives. We’re on the brink of ramping up our retaliatory actions,” the official added.

Iran’s claims assert that there’s no cause for a ceasefire. Trump had announced via a social media post that an agreement for a “complete and total ceasefire” had been attained between Iran and Israel, set to commence “approximately six hours from now.”

“Congrats to everyone! A complete agreement is in place between Israel and Iran, with a complete ceasefire (about six hours after Israel and Iran concluded ongoing operations!) — the war will be deemed over for 12 hours,” Trump remarked. “This was mentioned in my post,” he said.

Trump further stated, “Officially, Iran has initiated a ceasefire, and Israel will commence its ceasefire in the twelfth hour. The official conclusion of the 12-day war will be recognized at the 24-hour mark, honoring the world.” He added that with each ceasefire, both sides must respect peace.

In a separate interview, Vice President JD Vance commended Trump’s announcement, suggesting that Trump could eliminate Iran’s nuclear ambitions without any American casualties, as reported by the New York Post.

Trump’s announcement follows Iran’s ballistic missile strikes on US bases situated in Qatar and Iraq.

The Iranian attacks targeted US bases in the Middle East, including Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz, in response to a US “massive precision strike” on several critical Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend.
