IRGC Commander Issues Threat to Trump

The leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), designated a terrorist organization by the U.S., has made some pointed threats toward President Trump in response to recent U.S. actions.

IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour stated that the interests of the American people would be sacrificed to ensure the survival of the Israeli regime. This comes after Trump accused Iran of being prepared for further military action against the U.S. following attacks on its nuclear facilities. Pakpour warned that any future American intervention would serve as a reminder of repercussions that could lead to deep regret.

This month, Pakpour will step into a role previously held by Hossein Salami, who was one of several high-ranking military leaders killed during Israel’s “Operation Lion.” The Israeli government has characterized this operation as a necessary action to thwart potential Iranian nuclear aggression.

For many years, Iran’s regime has made threats against Israel and the United States. As one of the world’s leading state sponsors of terrorism, Iran has funneled billions into jihadist groups including Hamas, Hezbollah, and others. The ongoing conflict with Israel aimed to create a new agreement regarding nuclear development, intended to replace the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) after prolonged negotiations with the U.S.

Attempts at reaching an agreement in recent talks fell apart as Iranian officials refused to place limits on uranium enrichment. Just hours before Israel began its military campaign, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) passed a resolution condemning Iran for violating international nuclear laws.

Last Saturday, Trump announced a significant strike on Iran’s key nuclear facilities, claiming it was a definitive military victory.

Trump emphasized that if Iran does not pursue peace, future attacks could escalate significantly. In response, Iran launched a failed strike against U.S. bases in Qatar and Iraq and suggested that more actions could follow.

Pakpour labeled the attacks on U.S. bases as a “powerful strike” and indicated that Iran would take further action if deemed necessary.

On Monday, after Trump’s declaration of a ceasefire, Iran violated it by launching missiles at a residential area in Beer Sheba, killing at least six people. There were also reports of intercepted missiles, which only adds to the chaos.

During a press briefing, Trump acknowledged Iran’s ceasefire violation but also pointed fingers at Israel, suggesting that neither side is effectively handling the situation.
