Iran Threatens That Deadly Attacks by Israel Are a 'Declaration of War'

Iran Issues Warning to Israel Amid Military Escalation

On Friday morning, Iran cautioned Israel that attacks on its military and nuclear sites would be interpreted as a “declaration of war.”

This strong statement from Tehran follows a recent incident where Iranian forces launched 100 drones toward Israel, prompting a significant response as anticipated retaliation was declared.

According to reports, Iran’s state-run Islamic Republic News Agency confirmed that Israeli airstrikes targeted essential nuclear and missile sites in Iran, resulting in the death of Major General Hossein Salami, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

It’s worth noting that Iran doesn’t recognize Israel’s legitimacy and openly seeks its destruction.

In Iranian media, Salami characterized the United States as a “small and weak” nation lacking strong political alliances, foreseeing the downfall of both Israel and America.

Israel responded by deploying around 200 fighters to strike 100 targets, successfully targeting one of Iran’s nuclear facilities while also destroying numerous air defense systems and eliminating high-ranking military officials, including General Salami.

In a letter to the United Nations, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi referred to the large-scale attack as a “declaration of war,” urging the Security Council to take action regarding the matter.

Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, portrayed the Iranian regime as a victim, asserting that Israel had “sealed a fate of suffering and painful for itself.” Previously, Khamenei has described Israel as “cancerous tumors” that must be eradicated.

On the same day, both Jordan and Iraq announced the closure of their airspace following Israeli strikes, which included grounding all flights. Jordanian troops reported intercepting drones and missiles that entered their airspace, especially after Iran insisted that there would be “no restrictions” in retaliation.
