Iran Warns of Attacks in the Gulf to Cut Off Oil Supplies to the U.S. and Its Allies 'For Years'

Iranian Forces Threaten Escalation Amid U.S. Tensions

The Iranian regime has raised alarms, suggesting they might increase attacks on energy facilities and U.S. interests in the Persian Gulf. This follows President Trump’s warning of potential U.S. military action against Iranian infrastructure.

As the cease-fire deadline set by Trump draws near, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) have pledged to target “U.S. military bases and interests in the Persian Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz.”

A statement by the IRGC, reported by the Tasnim news agency, warned that they would strike infrastructure to “deprive the United States and its allies of oil and gas in the region for years to come.”

They stated, “America’s foolish leaders, who have aligned their interests with the Zionists, are unaware that their vital assets are now within the scope of our fighters’ targets as they attack our infrastructure.”

The Revolutionary Guards further mentioned, “If America’s terrorist forces cross a red line, our response will go beyond the region. We have not, and will not, target civilian sites. However, we will retaliate decisively against malicious attacks on civilian facilities.”

This intense back-and-forth comes after Trump threatened to strike Iranian bridges, power plants, and other infrastructure by 8 PM on Tuesday if a cease-fire is not established and safe passage for oil through the Strait of Hormuz is not guaranteed.

In a morning address, Trump cautioned that “an entire civilization will perish tonight” if the demands of his administration are not met. He expressed hope that a “complete and total regime change” might lead to a positive outcome for the situation in Iran.

Reports from Iranian intelligence on Tuesday indicated explosions heard on Kharg Island, a critical transit point for around 90% of Iran’s oil exports. Some analysts speculate that this may indicate that Trump’s aggressive deadline was meant to catch the Iranian regime off guard. However, it remains uncertain if the explosions are linked to any U.S. military actions.
