Iran Threatens “All-Out War” Amid Conflict with Israel

Iran has issued a stark warning that any collaboration with Israel would lead to “all-out war.” This comes after Iran asserted its right to continue enriching uranium despite recent military actions against its forces by Israel.

Esmail Baghahi, a spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, conveyed in an interview with Al Jazeera English that U.S. involvement would escalate tensions significantly. He didn’t provide many specifics, but it’s known that thousands of American troops are stationed in countries neighboring Iran, heightening the situation. The U.S. has threatened a strong retaliation for any attacks originating from the region.

Interestingly, another Iranian official seems to have retracted a previous demand for Iran to cease its nuclear activities. Ali Baleini, Iran’s ambassador to Geneva, mentioned that Iran will keep producing enriched uranium as long as it’s needed for peaceful purposes, without addressing the consequences of the Israeli strike on its nuclear research.

Israeli forces reportedly conducted airstrikes against targets in Tehran, while Iran retaliated with missile fire; however, no casualties were reported from either side. Israeli officials assert that these attacks are necessary to prevent Iran from advancing its nuclear capabilities. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts involving the U.S. and Iran are still ongoing following a two-month negotiation period.

President Trump stated that the Israeli military action took place after he had set a 60-day timetable for discussions.

Iran has consistently claimed that its nuclear ambitions are peaceful. However, the country is the only non-nuclear armed state capable of enriching uranium to 60%, which is just a technical step away from weapons-grade enrichment of 90%. U.S. intelligence, according to reports, does not believe that Iran is actively seeking to develop nuclear weapons. On the other hand, Israel is widely assumed to possess nuclear weapons, although it has never officially acknowledged this.

The Israeli Defense Forces announced that they had targeted and eliminated Ali Shadmani, identified as Iran’s “wartime chief of staff.” He had only been in this role for a short period before meeting the same fate as his predecessor.

According to General Effy Deffrin, the IDF has dealt a significant blow to Iran’s capabilities, forcing its regime back to central Iran. Deffrin mentioned that Iranian forces are now focusing their missile operations in the Isfahan area, resulting in threats to both military and civilian targets.

The Israeli Air Force has mounted extensive operations, with over 1,100 strikes against Iranian sites reported as of now. Their objectives continue to include crippling Iran’s ability to produce nuclear materials and long-range missiles. Interestingly, reports indicated that around 30 missiles had been launched from Iran into Israeli territory just recently.

While most of these attacks were intercepted by Israel’s defense systems, there were no casualties reported, which is a relief, although officials warned that complacency is not an option. They urged citizens to remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines during this tense time.

After initially distancing himself from the conflict, President Trump has expressed a desire for increased U.S. involvement, hinting at a solution that goes beyond a simple ceasefire. The U.S. is shifting military assets to the region as tensions rise, including sending additional fighter jets.

In a social media post, Trump noted that the U.S. is aware of the whereabouts of Iran’s highest-ranking leader but chose not to act against him for the moment. He also emphasized the need for Iran’s “complete surrender” and claimed the U.S. now has control over Iranian airspace.
