Iran’s supreme leader thanks US college students for ‘standing on the right side of history’

Iran’s Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has praised American university students protesting the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, praising them for “standing on the right side of history.”

“Dear college students of the United States of America, you are on the right side of history,” Khamenei wrote in X’s post.

The post was part of a longer letter the supreme leader wrote to American university students, praising them for their anti-Israel protests.

“You have now formed chapters of the Resistance Front and begun an honorable struggle in the face of relentless pressure from a government that has usurped power and openly supported the brutal Zionist regime,” he wrote in the letter.

The supreme leader claimed that the US and Britain had “imported” terrorists to the region after World War II.

“After the First World War, the capitalist Zionist network, with the support of the British government, gradually sent thousands of terrorists into the land,” Khamenei wrote. “These terrorists raided cities and villages, killing tens of thousands of people and displacing many of them into neighboring countries. They seized people’s homes, businesses and farms and established a government in the stolen Palestinian land that they named Israel.”

He said the “global Zionist elite” was labelling the “brave and humane resistance” on university campuses as “terrorism.”

“The support and solidarity of the professors is an important and crucial development,” he wrote. “It will give you some comfort in the face of the government’s police violence and the pressure it is exerting on you.
