Israel begins ground offensive in Gaza City

Israel launches Gaza City ground offensive

Israeli Forces Launch Ground Attack on Gaza

On Tuesday, Israeli forces executed a long-planned ground assault on Gaza, intensifying a conflict that has already led to thousands of casualties. Israel aims to gain control over significant areas in the northern part of the region.

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) announced that “activities” have commenced in Gaza City and that operations are expected to “expand based on the evolving situation.”

“The goal is to fulfill the war objectives in Gaza and build on the successes achieved thus far,” the IDF stated on the social platform X.

Israel has been gearing up for this invasion recently, asserting that targeting the militant group Hamas is essential for halting ongoing attacks in the area. This strategy has drawn criticism from the global community.

“Gaza is engulfed in flames. IDF soldiers are clashing with terrorist infrastructure,” commented an official on X Tuesday morning. “We are not going to be merciful, and we won’t withdraw until our mission is accomplished.”

Last month, the IDF instructed residents to evacuate and head south to designated “humanitarian areas.”

Israeli forces have targeted numerous skyscrapers in Gaza, claiming these structures were being used by Hamas, which the U.S. has labeled a foreign terrorist organization for military activities. Alongside the ground invasion, Israeli forces have intensified airstrikes in recent days.

Shifa Hospital has received at least 30 casualties since the attack began, according to Dr. Rami Manna, an official from the hospital.

In preparation for this operation, Israel mobilized around 60,000 reservists last month, with an additional 20,000 extending their service.

On Monday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Israel, where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He mentioned, “Time is running out” for negotiating an end to the Israeli-Hamas conflict.

Rubio referred to President Trump’s interest in facilitating a ceasefire, but he acknowledged that current negotiations are stalled, emphasizing that “we also need to be ready for the possibility that a resolution may not be reached.”
