Israel Issues Warning to Houthi Leader, Strikes Yemeni Ports Following Missile Strikes

Israel Threatens Houthi Leader Amid Ongoing Tensions

Israel has issued a direct threat to Abdul Malik al-Houthi, the leader of the Yemeni rebels, who are supported by Iran.

According to reports, a senior Israeli official stated, “As long as the Houthis keep launching missiles at Israel, they can expect a painful retaliation. We will also target key figures, similar to how the Deif and Sinwar operated in Gaza regarding Tehran and Nasrallah.” He further emphasized, “We will isolate and take out Yemen’s Abdul Malik al-Houthi, ensuring our own security against these threats.”

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) outlined the rationale behind their recent military actions in a statement.

Recently, the IDF targeted and dismantled a site linked to the Houthi militant group in Hudaida and Salif Port. These locations are known for being used to transport weapons, illustrating the Houthi regime’s troubling utilization of civilian infrastructure for terrorist purposes.

The strikes were conducted after the IDF issued multiple warnings to local residents, aiming to minimize civilian casualties. The intention is to prevent any hostile operations at these ports in the future.

Over the past year and a half, the Houthi regime has acted under Iranian influence, seeking to harm Israel and its allies, which disrupts regional stability and global navigation.

In response to these activities, the IDF continues to advise those in the area to evacuate, reiterating their commitment to counter threats to Israeli citizens.

The airstrikes occurred shortly after former President Donald Trump had visited the region. Trump had announced a ceasefire between the U.S. and the Houthis, but indicated that the Houthis would persist in their attacks on Israel.

Israel emphasized its right to act independently of any U.S. ceasefire agreements, which justified Friday’s military actions.
