The Israel Defense Forces told Fox News Digital it was investigating an incident in which soldiers were filmed throwing a body off a rooftop during a military operation in the West Bank.
The incident was said to have taken place on Thursday in the town of Kabatiyeh, with the IDF saying its forces “killed four terrorists in a firefight.”
“This is a serious incident that is inconsistent with the IDF's values and expectations of its soldiers,” the military said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “The incident is currently under investigation.”
According to the Associated Press, video of the incident shows three soldiers lifting the body, which appears to be rigid, and dragging it over the edge of a roof while other soldiers stand below, peering at the body over the edge before throwing it off.

In another case, a soldier kicked a body over the edge, after which it disappeared from view, according to the Associated Press.
The identity of the body was not immediately released.

Photos taken by The Associated Press during Thursday's operation showed Israeli bulldozers moving near the building where the bodies were dropped.
After viewing the footage, Shawan Jabarin, head of the Palestinian rights group Al-Haq, told the news agency: “There is no need for the army to do this. This is just a barbaric way of disposing of Palestinian bodies.”

The Israeli military said its forces killed a total of seven militants on Thursday, four during a firefight and three in an airstrike on a vehicle carrying militants who had allegedly fired on troops. As of Friday, no militant group had claimed the dead as its own.
