Israel Sends Condolences to U.S. on Carter’s Passing; Downplays ‘Apartheid’ Smear, Hamas Visit

Israel on Monday offered its condolences to the American people and the family of former President Jimmy Carter, who died on Sunday, highlighting his efforts for peace and calling the Jewish state practicing “apartheid” in the aftermath. chose to ignore the false claims of

He would be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in making peace, but he also paved the way for the Iranian Islamic Revolution that brought the Ayatollahs to power. He also coddled Palestinian terrorists and famously met with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who seized power in a bloody coup in Gaza.

Israeli government spokesman David Mensah told reporters on Monday: “Israel is committed to the signing of the 1978 Camp David Accords with Egypt, the first peace treaty between Israel and an Arab state in nearly half a century. I will always remember Mr. Carter's role.” .

He said the Israeli people “expressed our condolences to the Carter family and the American people.”

Breitbart News asked how Israel has dealt with Carter's other legacies, including his 2006 book. Peace in Palestine is not apartheidtook a staunchly anti-Israel stance and even appeared to condone suicide bombings, but Mensah was diplomatic.
