Israeli Military Prepares for Trump Plan Implementation

The Israeli military stated on Saturday that it is prepared to begin the initial phase of a peace plan proposed by former President Donald Trump. This announcement follows Hamas declaring on Friday that it agrees to release all Israeli hostages, whether living or deceased, as part of this peace initiative.

In a video posted from the Oval Office, Trump expressed optimism about nearing a peace agreement, mentioning that he’s patiently waiting for final confirmations. According to the Israeli military’s Chief of General Staff, a special meeting was convened to assess the situation, and directives were issued for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to gear up for the initial phase of the Trump plan connected to the hostage release.

Safety concerns for IDF personnel remain paramount, with all available resources being allocated to the Southern Command to ensure military protection. The Chief of Staff stressed the need for extreme vigilance among troops, emphasizing readiness for quick responses to any potential threats.

Officials reported that the Israeli forces will adopt a defensive posture within the Gaza Strip, refraining from aggressive attacks. However, IDF assets will still operate in the area.

Last week, Trump unveiled a 20-point peace plan aimed at halting Israeli military actions, disarming Hamas, and facilitating the reconstruction of Gaza under Palestinian control, which will be supervised by the UN.

Trump asserted, “This deal includes the lives of all remaining Hamas fighters! The entire world knows what’s in this agreement. It’s a tremendous opportunity for all. Some sort of peace seems attainable. We can stop the violence and bloodshed.” He mentioned that all involved nations have endorsed the agreement.

The former president added, “We will release all hostages, including deceased individuals. An agreement with Hamas needs to be forged by Sunday evening at 6 PM, Washington, DC Time. If this final, accidental agreement is reached, turmoil will unfold against Hamas like never before.” This reflects a rather optimistic viewpoint on achieving peace in the Middle East.
