The Italian prime minister is scheduled to testify in court in Sassari, Italy, on July 2.

A father (73) and his son (40) from Sardinia have been charged with defamation and video manipulation, including replacing a porn actress’s face with Meloni’s and publishing the content on a US website.

Under Italian law, defamation cases can be punished as criminal cases.

The father and son are said to have created the deepfake porn in 2020, before Meloni became prime minister, but the charges were recently filed after staff found the video online.

A deepfake video depicting Meloni reportedly remained on a US porn website for months and was viewed millions of times by users around the world.

Police said they were able to track the two men by the nicknames they used on their websites and the phone numbers from which the deepfake porn videos were distributed. The 40-year-old man’s home was then searched by authorities.

The 73-year-old asked the judge to do community service and end the case against him. A judge is reportedly expected to rule on the request next week.

Ms Meloni’s lawyer, Maria Giulia Marongiu, said the donation to the Solidarity Fund for Victims of Violence was “symbolic” and “a reminder to women who are victims of this kind of abuse of power not to fear prosecution. The aim is to send a message that.

Prosecutors say the video was created using graphics software.

As Breitbart News reported, there has been an explosion of AI sites and apps that allow users to superimpose anyone’s face onto images of nude bodies to create hyper-realistic fake porn. This is known as a “deepfake” and it is very difficult for people to tell that the image is not real.
