During the FNC’s “Sunday Morning Futures” aired this week, Sen. Mikeley (R-UT) proposed an optimistic view of the Trump administration’s challenge to the country’s existing birthright citizenship policy, currently under consideration in the Supreme Court.
“Look, Jason, this is an attractive case,” he said. “It’s a meticulous case. It can win. No one knows the outcome for sure. But one thing that everyone should keep in mind is not to undermine whether birthright citizenship exists or the promise of the 14th Amendment.
Lee continued. “It is the second phrase in the 14th amendment and is subject to its jurisdiction. What President Trump did has issued a supervisory body positively to not recognize the birthright of the person born at the moment of issuance of this order. This is controversial as he is a resident.
