Jack Draper survived fears of defeating Jenson Brooksby 7-5, 6-4, and booking his place in the fourth round of the Indian Wells' BNP Paribas Open for the second time in his career.
The British No. 1 chased 4-1 in the first set with World No. 937, but a rare moment of frustration prompted him to claim victory in two sets in his fight. On a 4-2 and Brooksby serve, Draper threw the racket to the floor, but followed his explosion by scoring the next three points when he returned to the match.
The 23-year-old British man said: He doesn't make the rhythm easy.
“I got off to a late start. I missed some opportunities early on. But I'm happy with the way I fought and competed. Today wasn't my best tennis, but I'm really pleased with how I did my best to keep things cool.”
His victory continued with another promising campaign for Draper, who reached the fourth round of the Australian Open and the final in Doha, where he lost to Andrei Lubrev.
Meanwhile, Jamie Murray became the first British man and the second active player, playing 1,000 career doubles matches. The 39-year-old stylishly marked the opportunity when he and his performance partner Adam Pabrasek defeated Ariel Beher and Robert Galloway in a tie-break set.

“That's something I'm proud of, I show longevity and I think I can play on that long tour for that long,” said Murray, who played his first tour doubles match with his younger brother Andy in Nottingham 19 years ago.
