No One Can Beat Miz!
On Monday, Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski made headlines by setting a new MLB milestone. In the team’s 5-1 victory over the Cardinals, he hurled a staggering 57 pitches that exceeded 100 mph. This is the highest number recorded in a single game since pitch tracking started back in 2008.
Not only did he break this remarkable record, but he also matched his personal best with 12 strikeouts, becoming the first pitcher this season to surpass the 100-strikeout mark.
After the game, Misiorowski confidently remarked to reporters, “That’s my job. I’ll throw hard.”
Impressively, eight of his pitches in the first inning alone clocked in at 103 mph or higher. This far outpaced the previous record of 47 pitches thrown over 100 mph by Reds pitcher Hunter Greene against the Cardinals.
Misiorowski pitched for seven innings, giving up just one run on two hits and walking one batter. The Cardinals’ first hit didn’t come until the sixth inning when Pedro Pagés managed a single into right field. Pagés later crossed home plate on a groundout by Ivan Herrera.
Brewers captain Pat Murphy praised Misiorowski’s performance, calling it “one of the best performances I’ve seen in a long time.”
This season, Misiorowski has started 11 games, boasting a 5-2 record and a 1.83 ERA. Interestingly, he made his MLB debut against the Cardinals in June 2025, and now, just a year later, he’s showing significant improvement.
Brewers pitching coordinator Jim Henderson noted how he’s witnessed Misiorowski’s growth. “You start to believe it because we see it happening before our eyes,” he said. “A couple weeks into the season, when he was hitting 99 mph, we had a bullpen session between starts. We were like, ‘Yes.’”
