Renowned Democratic strategist James Carville it was very frank It doesn't look good about where former President Joe Biden stands within the Democratic Party.
Carville said “no one wants to hear” from the former president anymore because most of the blame for Democrats' devastating defeat in the election rests on Biden's weak shoulders.
“Look, man, you've had a noble career, and your last act was terrible. Get out of the way.”
“This is the truth of our situation,” Carville said. “What he's done to himself is no one wants to hear about this guy anymore, okay? Go to your condo in Rehoboth and stay there!”
Carville made the comments on the latest episode of the “Politics War Room” podcast, published Friday.
“And it's not because we're bad people or mean people,” he continued. “It was all his work, his work, all of this.”
The comments reflected aspects of a bitter debate within the Democratic Party over who should be held responsible for the disastrous election and how to manipulate the party's policies to win future elections. Carville also addressed Biden's recent assertion that he would have defeated President Donald Trump if he had stayed in the race.
“We're having these boring conversations about, 'Oh, I could beat Trump,' but no one believes that!” he continued. “Look, dude, you've had a noble career. Your last act was terrible. Just get out of the way. The party's moving on. I mean, they're really moving forward. I am doing it.”
Carville went on to say that Biden was a very decent man, but that this election had become one of the “most tragic stories” in American national life.
“It's very sad, but that's where we are and he created this himself. He has no one to blame but himself,” Carville concluded. “Nobody.”
