James Conner will be a Cardinal for a little while longer.
The veteran running back signed a two-year, $19 million extension with Arizona on Saturday. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Conner was scheduled to become a free agent after the 2024 NFL season.
The two-time Pro Bowler, who turns 30 in May, is having a strong season with the Cardinals, rushing for 705 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games.
Conner is in the midst of his fourth season in Arizona, having signed with the team ahead of the 2021 season after spending four seasons with the Steelers.
Currently tied for first place in the NFC West with the Seahawks at 6-5, the Cardinals have been one of the most surprising teams in football through the first 12 weeks of the season.

Conner isn't the first veteran ballcarrier to get a contract extension from a team in recent weeks.
Panthers forward Tuba Hubbard, 25, signed a four-year, $33.2 million contract with Carolina in early November.
In October, Alvin Kamara, 29, signed a two-year, $24.5 million contract extension with the Saints.
These three extensions follow the free agent running back frenzy last offseason, when seven running backs left the team on big contracts.
